What you’ll be doing 

This role involves supporting vulnerable individuals with assisted technology to live independently. You will be responsible for installing assisted technology, taking all the necessary information from the customer, as well as regularly testing the equipment and reviewing customer details. In addition to this, you will offer guidance and assistance to our customers, and where needed, signpost them to other services to ensure their needs are being met.

Our service is 24/7 and the role is a permanent three-day position (24 hours per week) working on a 5-week rolling rota, which includes 7 standbys within the 5-week rota. The rota offers a great way to ensure you can plan all your personal commitments, as it doesn’t change. We can offer some flexibility within the role as we appreciate life can be busy for both you and our customers.

This position will require you to work and collaborate as a team during core working hours. However, when you are working out-of-hours on standby, you will be required to work alone. You'll be provided with a lone working device and you will drive one of our fleet vehicles, which is tracked as your safety is our top priority when you're working on your own.

No two days are the same as a Responder, the role is very rewarding and there are times when you will be required to think on your feet and make decisions that are in the best interest of our customers. Does this sound like a role for you? If so, read on for further information.

A little more about this exciting position

Weekday working hours are 24 hours over 3 days – 8.30am to 5pm.

Weekday standbys commence from 5pm and run until 8:30am the following morning, while weekend standbys start at 8:30am on Saturday and conclude at 8:30am on Monday. All paid in addition to your salary.

Standbys are all out-of-hours where you hold the phone and respond to callouts from the comfort of your own home.

Standbys are compensated well and you'll have full use of a fleet vehicle, which will be equipped with everything you need for your standby. On your working days, you will be required to use your own vehicle - mileage is paid at a rate of 45p per mile.

If you are lucky enough to be successful, your salary will start at £23,151 (pro rata). On top of the salary, you will also receive a very attractive standby/call-out rate.

  • Provide a full driving license.
